The Council is looking for a highly motivated Debt Recovery Officer to improve and maintain our Accounts Receivable system and perform an effective credit control function, including the identification and collection of debts, setting up payment plans and the management of credit limits with individual debtors.

The ideal candidate would have proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable or collections in a local authority or public sector environment, have a working knowledge of debt and debt recovery legislation, and strong customer communication skills in writing and over the phone.

You will need to help us to ensure our financial controls are working correctly, completing reconciliations, journals and tasks in a timely manner to enable the Transactions Team Leader and Finance Business Partners to produce accurate budget monitoring reports and statements of accounts.
