 The Harborough Innovation Centre is the flagship to support innovative, early-stage companies in the East Midlands and to create jobs for the high volume of talented individuals in the surrounding area.

 We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Advisor to provide tailored business growth advice and support for its businesses.

 The postholder will be responsible for:

 Providing business growth and diversification advice

• signposting to specialist support
• supporting businesses seeking financial assistance for a range of small business schemes available through the Council, LLEP Business Gateway service and UK Government

 You will have expertise in:

• business planning
• delivering exciting business growth related seminars, workshops and events

Whilst you will work with the Centre Team, it is expected that the post holder will also work collarboratively with the Council’s Economic Development Team, Leicester and Leicestershire Economic Partnership and key partners. In your role you will make links and networks with academia such as Universities, Institutes and Colleges to support our businesses growth and development.

 The Centre is located in Market Harborough which is centrally located between the cities of Leicester, Cambridge, Birmingham and Nottingham and only a 1 hour train journey from London. The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree (e.g. Business, Management, Finance, Law) or be able to demonstrate equivalent aptitude. You will be able to work under your own initiative and work accurately and concisely whilst delivering excellent customer service. Your promotion and marketing skills will be second to none and your effective communication and networking skills will help you to build effective working relationships.

 You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends.
